Vicky was born and raised in St-Georges-de-Beauce, in a valley where the local folks are as sweet as the maple syrup they produce. She came from a family of musicians. Early in her childhood, she was exposed to family jam sessions where the guitars, accordions, spoons, violins, and pianos played in harmony, while the singers kept those dancers going until the sun rises.
Her dad was the lead singer of three French Canadian bands, and she vividly remembers hearing Buck Owen or Chet Atkins’s songs play on her daddy’s 8 tracks player, in his garage. She wasn’t even 10 and she already knew that she, too, would grow up to be a performer. She now writes her own songs and sings, plays piano, guitar, auto-harp & harmonica.
Life events took her to Massachusetts in 2005, where she fell even more for the American Country music culture. Through the years, she traveled to Nashville enough times to have developed a friendship and musical roots with Music City’s local musicians. As such, the rockabilly influence from Memphis and the Sun Studio, the country feel of Nashville, mixed with her Cajun roots inspired her own unique, blended style.
In 2012, she joined forces with local legend Brian Chicoine, and became “June”, in the Tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter band “CASH IS KING”. Vicky’s sparkly stage presence is stunningly like June’s legendary personality…
Vicky also performs impersonations of such legends as Minnie Pearl, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn & Jessi Colter, which is a large part of her contribution as a member of the Truck Stop Troubadours band.
In 2013, she began her journey as an indie recording artist in her own rights. She writes about personal experiences, heartaches, and new beginnings. Her musical style is most inspired by female artists and songwriters like Brandy Clark, Julie Roberts, Norah Jones, Lori Morgan, and the late great Joey Feeks.
"LIVE, LEARN & LOVE YOUR WHISKEY" was released in June 2015, and most recently, “PASSAGES” was released, in May 2021.
Look out for her name on the marquis in big and small venues across New England to catch her live; either solo, in a duet with Brian, or with the full band!
